About Me
My name is Amanda and I am a warm, empathetic counsellor offering you a safe setting to explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours to enable you to move forward with your life. Whether you want to deal with something that is troubling you or face a change in your life, we can work together to create an increased sense of wellbeing.
I believe that, given the time, space and empathy people have the capacity to change and grow.
Not sure how you are feeling but something doesn’t feel “right”
Finding a situation distressing
Feeling stuck in life
Feeling anxious or depressed or stressed
Suffering from low self-esteem or self-confidence
Struggling to face challenges or changes
Facing uncertainty
Having challenges with a relationship, either personal or at work?
Recovering from a traumatic event or have past trauma you would like to explore
If any of the above feel familiar then I can work with you to create the change, understanding or resolution you need.
My clients have said they “feel motivated, more resilient and lighter” following counselling.
I am a member of the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) and therefore adhere to their ethical framework. As part of my ethical practice I attend regular Supervision sessions to ensure I am offering you the best possible experience.
Experience
As well as working in private practice I have worked in a University and a Charity setting with adults age 18+. I have helped my clients face change, loss, depression, anxiety, self-esteem issues and feelings of not being good enough. Alongside, working with their past trauma, sexuality and difficulties in relationships.
